PARSIPPANY, New Jersey, and LONDON — In a major move that significantly broadens its presence in the global luxury and upscale hospitality sectors, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has announced a comprehensive strategic partnership with HotelREZ Hotels & Resorts, the renowned operator of Elegant Hotels of the World. Under the terms of the new agreement, more than 40 luxury independent member properties operating under the Elegant banner will join Wyndham’s rapidly expanding Registry Collection Hotels brand by early next year. Additional properties from the HotelREZ network are expected to follow as the partnership deepens and matures over time.

The Registry Collection Hotels brand currently spans a carefully curated portfolio of more than 30 independent hotels and resorts across nine countries. This global footprint includes notable high-end properties such as the Bristol Panama in Panama City, Panama; Hodges Bay Resort & Spa—operating as an HQ Luxury Resort & Residences—located in St. John, Antigua; and the stylish Balfour Miami Beach situated in vibrant Miami, Florida, among others. By integrating the Elegant Hotels of the World portfolio, Wyndham will instantly scale this luxury footprint, adding dozens of prestigious boutique properties to its high-end brand tier.

Statements From Leadership

Executives from both hospitality organizations emphasized the transformative nature of the alliance, highlighting the mutual benefits for independent hoteliers, corporate growth strategies, and loyal travelers alike.

“As Wyndham grows, so do the aspirations of our Wyndham Rewards members,” said Scott Strickland, Chief Commercial Officer at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, offering insight into the consumer-facing motivations behind the deal. “Whether it’s a once-in-a-lifetime vacation, a destination wedding, or a milestone celebration, members want their points to take them to places that feel as special as the moments they’re celebrating. By partnering with HotelREZ Hotels & Resorts, we’re expanding those offerings, opening the doors to a broader array of exceptional luxury hotels and resorts in highly coveted destinations around the world.”

Mark Lewis, group CEO of HotelREZ Hotels & Resorts, echoed these sentiments, focusing on the immense commercial value the partnership unlocks for independent properties navigating an increasingly competitive global travel landscape.

“At its heart, our partnership with Wyndham is about unlocking commercial opportunities for our member hotels,” Lewis said. “For more than two decades, we’ve worked hard to earn the trust of independent hoteliers around the world and today, we’re building on those relationships by partnering with one of the world’s largest, most trusted hotel ecosystems—all backed by Wyndham’s award-winning, rapidly-growing loyalty program.”

Additional Details

Wyndham’s latest expansion of its upscale and luxury Registry Collection Hotels brand is made possible directly through HotelREZ’s Elegant Hotels of the World portfolio, which represents a highly selective collection of independent luxury properties situated in popular leisure and business destinations across the globe.

Over the coming months, more than 40 Elegant member hotels are slated to integrate seamlessly into the Registry Collection’s robust global sales, marketing, and distribution channels. Many of these participating properties are small luxury boutique hotels, typically averaging between 20 and 50 rooms each, a scale that appeals heavily to travelers seeking intimate, highly personalized lodging experiences rather than massive, cookie-cutter resort complexes. Additional properties are expected to join the fold thereafter, subject to careful evaluation regarding brand fit, individual owner participation, and standard operational onboarding requirements.

Crucially, the operational structure of the partnership ensures that hotels joining the Registry Collection brand will retain their existing memberships within Elegant Hotels of the World while simultaneously gaining access to the powerful Wyndham Rewards ecosystem. This dual affiliation allows independent hoteliers to maintain their distinct brand identity and boutique charm while immediately tapping into the massive distribution network and loyalty base of one of the world’s premier hospitality giants.

Scaling Solutions for Independents

Building directly upon the foundational partnership, Wyndham and HotelREZ are also introducing an innovative and flexible commercial model designed to benefit an even wider array of independent properties. Under this new framework, hotels associated with HotelREZ’s Best Loved Hotels—another curated collection featuring upscale independent properties—will receive selective access to Wyndham’s advanced proprietary technology stack.

This technological integration will include cutting-edge, artificial intelligence-powered solutions such as Wyndham Connect and the Wyndham AI Concierge, previously known as Wyndham Connect PLUS. Furthermore, these properties will gain access to Wyndham’s extensive third-party distribution platform, enhancing their visibility and booking capabilities on a global scale.

This flexible commercial structure, scheduled to officially launch later this year, creates substantial additional value for both Wyndham and HotelREZ. For Wyndham, the initiative extends the reach and influence of its proprietary commercial capabilities into previously untapped independent market segments. For HotelREZ, the collaboration vastly broadens the operational and revenue-generating opportunities available to its diverse network of independent hotels, ensuring they remain competitive against major corporate hotel chains in an evolving digital marketplace.
