Casino resort operator Wynn Resorts will likely decide in February precisely how to open its highly anticipated Ras Al Khaimah casino resort, CEO Craig Billings said on the company’s third-quarter earnings call on Thursday. The multi-billion-dollar project represents a landmark development for the region, marking a major shift in the tourism and entertainment landscape of the United Arab Emirates.
Addressing investors and analysts during the financial update, Billings provided fresh insight into the strategic planning surrounding the massive undertaking. "We will make a decision about the format in which we open. And we’ll probably make that decision around February," he stated, highlighting the careful deliberation currently taking place within the executive team as the target opening date draws closer.

The $5.7 billion Wynn Al Marjan Island, set to become the United Arab Emirates’ very first integrated gaming resort, remains firmly scheduled for an opening in September 2027. However, Billings noted during the call that the precise mix of source markets the company ideally wants to attract "does impact how we open." He added that Wynn already possesses "the playbooks for every single iteration of that today," indicating that the hospitality giant is prepared for multiple operational scenarios depending on market conditions, regulatory frameworks, and international travel trends.
The question of how to approach the grand unveiling of such a monumental property is critical for a luxury operator of Wynn’s scale. Back in August, Wynn management addressed rollout strategies, noting at the time that the company did not plan a staggered rollout. "We generally don’t do phased openings," Billings said during that earlier discussion. "We would open the doors and open all the amenities exactly as we would any other particular opening."
As preparations continue for the ambitious Al Marjan Island development in Ras Al Khaimah, the upcoming February decision will mark a crucial milestone for the project. Stakeholders across the global hospitality and gaming industries continue to monitor the progress of the resort, which is poised to redefine luxury tourism in the Middle East when it officially welcomes its first guests in the fall of 2027.
